On August 15th, 2015, South Burlington turns 150!  Mark your calendars to join a city wide festival, a CityFest, at Veterans Memorial Park on Dorset Street. 
 
The South Burlington Rotary Club and the City of South Burlington are partnering to create a City celebration.  This year, 2015, is the 150th anniversary of the City.  With your help, we will create an event that celebrates the City's history, our businesses and organizations, our schools and most importantly the residents of South Burlington.  There will be a blend of music and family focused activities with local foods and beverages being offered.

The City of South Burlington turned 150 year old this year and we're throwing a party. South Burlington Rotary and the City of South Burlington have partnered to create, CityFest 2015 to celebrate the milestone. The celebration will take place on August 15th at Veterans Memorial Park on Dorset St. 
 
The days activities will begin at 9AM with the Rotary Craft Fair. At 11AM the festivities continue with carnival rides, bouncy slides, face painting, exhibitor displays, food trucks, beer garden and live music all afternoon. We're planning to have a Blackhawk helicopter on site along with a touch-a-truck area with vehicles from the City's Public Works, Police, Fire and Rescue departments. US Tennis Association will have mini courts set up for demonstrations, the hockey rink will be open while at the other end of the park will be an all ages home run derby contest. At the Wheeler Nature area there will guided tours through the property. At 5PM the Vermont Original Music Competition begins with 4 local musicians playing original music for a grand prize worth $5000. After the competition there will be more local live music leading up the fireworks finale around 9:30PM
 
The vendor village tent will have a history display featuring memorabilia and photos from the City's past, the SB Energy Prize group will have a display with energy saving ideas and products. The City Library will have a photo both and bubble maker along with the book mobile and other fun activities. Area businesses and organizations will have space to promote there products and services.
 
Parking will be limited at the Park for volunteers, vendors and exhibitors but we will have special busses running throughout the city during the event. The School bus department will be have special bus routes and schedules bringing residents from their local elementary and the middle school lots to CityFest. For bicycle riders a secure bike drop and valet will be on site. Handicap parking will be available.
