We are currently accepting applications for this annual community award. This award goes to a person who lives or works in South Burlington and had contributed significantly in some way to their vocation.  The committee considers such factors as their profession, how long he or she have been involved in their vocation and whether the individual exemplifies the Rotary ideals.

A quick word on the history of the naming of the award. Prior to his death, the Club presented Mr. Frederick Tuttle with a Paul Harris Fellow award for his contributions to the community. Fred served as a Superintendent of the South Burlington Schools from 1971-1992. Mr. Tuttle died after a courageous battle with cancer on May 14th, 1992. Since then, the Middle School has been renamed the Frederick H. Tuttle Middle School. He also served as principal of the South Burlington Middle School for many years. The club's sentiments is that Mr. Tuttle exemplified the ideals of what this award is intended to recognize. As such, the award is name in his memory.

A plaque commemorating the past recipients of the award is placed in City Hall. The recipient may designate the recipient of a $250 donation from the club and is given an Honorary Membership in Rotary for a year. The award is presented at our annual Holiday Party which will take place on December 13th this year.
