It has been about 10 months since Chelsea Keyser left VT to attend the University of Bradford as a Rotary Peace Fellow.  Chelsea is enrolled in the Peace, Conflict and Development Masters Program.  Chelsea recently spoke at our Rotary meeting and she said that the Rotary Peace Fellowship has allowed her to learn about peacekeeping on an international level through the United Nations down to peace building on a local level, using customary institutions to resolve disputes among community members.

Chelsea was able to attend several Rotary meetings and a District conference and a District assembly while in England.  Chelsea is currently interning at The Carter Center in Atlanta, Georgia and beginning in August she will be interning at the United Nations Department of Peacekeeping in New York City.   She will return to England in October to work on her thesis and finish her studies at the University of Bradford.

Chelsea truly exemplifies what a Rotary Peace Fellow should be.  She has a great energy and passion about peacekeeping that you can really sense when you hear her speak.  She is a fine role model for folks young and old and is a great representative for Rotary.
