This year's Fred Tuttle Award has been awarded to Anne Corley. Anne  retired 18 years ago from South Burlington High School.  She was a teacher when Fred Tuttle was superintendent. She became interested in volunteering in the community at the suggestion of fellow teacher Jane Stickney.  Anne feels strongly about helping those less fortunate and in need. She started helping at the Chittenden County Food Shelf after retiring. About 8 years ago she and Jane (a Williston resident) established the Angel Fund and Shop.  They hold multiple garage sales to help fund the many requests they receive from Social Service Agencies for assistance with fuel and utility bills, help for those re entering the work force or returning to school and much more.  Each holiday, Anne's house turns into a Christmas  shop where parents and children in need can shop for their families. The number of individual's and families who have been helped through Anne's efforts is a testament to why she is the ideal Fred Tuttle Award recipient and a true example of giving back to one's community.

Join us in congratulating, Anne!
